Trebuchet

A simple wooden trebuchet my friends and I built a couple years back. It’s currently set up for a 100:1 counterweight to projectile mass ratio, with 200lbs of counterweight. When we assembled it with only 120lbs (all the three of us could lift and attach at that height), it threw a Bocce ball roughly 250ft. With some more analysis, it could probably be upgraded to throw 500ft+. The whole thing cost us about $200 in materials and a weekend to build completely. Obviously some of the components in this model are just stand ins. If anyone is interested in actually building it, message me and I’ll provide all the details. Or if there’s enough interest, I can post full build instructions.
