Credit goes to teamurbansiege.com/image-galleries/quick-release-trigger.html for the image galleries and who provided them with the plans. This design isn't mine, I merely converted their .pdf plans into a usable .stl format for 3D printing. It took me three hours to upload the files from there website. I created this .stl so I could print out templates and cut them out of 1/4 inch steel (6mm) plates. My plan is to weld an axe head to a steel counterweight, allowing it to drop onto wood and split it in one go. To assemble the quick-release trigger, you'll need to print two back and front plates. The fixing bolts are 7mm, while the shackle requires an 8mm quick-release that fits best into a 13mm hole. A safety pin with a 7mm diameter is also required, as well as a leaver rope attachment measuring 4mm. The trigger measures 140mm in width and 71mm in height at its top.
