Treble Hook Snell/leader Organizer
thingiverse
I favor using treble hook snells for fishing because they have the line already attached. A snell allows you to get hook bonnets for the hooks, but the line still tends to go every which way. That's why I came up with this design - it has a spot for the fishing line to wrap around the bonnet so things don't get all tangled up in my tackle box. The concept is simple: slip the line end of your snell/leader into the top and pull it through until the treble hook rests in the slots for it. Then, wrap the line around the ring in the edge. I'm planning to add a small slot later to tuck the end of the line into or design and print a ring or end cap that slips over the end. My wife also uses these to keep her treble hook lines organized for crawdad fishing. Now I'm on version 2. I've made some changes. I enlarged the center hole to accommodate larger treble hooks' shank and eyelets. I deepened the grooves for the hooks. I narrowed the string wrapping groove. I increased the diameter of the entire base by 2mm to fit larger treble hooks. I also added an end cap so that the whole thing doesn't come undone. I designed this using the new TinkerCad Beta editor.
