Treasure Chest - Closes, 1 Print, No Assembly
thingiverse
A Treasure Chest That Prints in Place with a Closing Lid. No Supports or Assembly Required. Just Drag-and-Drop, Print, and Enjoy Your Working Treasure Chest. The Lid Opens and Closes Smoothly, Although Not Perfect, and Has Withstood Many Fast Openings and Closings Without Breaking. It Was Printed on a Monoprice III 3D Printer Using a Heated Bed with a 120x120mm Build Platform, a 0.4mm Nozzle, and a 0.1mm Layer Height with Translucent PLA at 215 Degrees Celsius. The Print Took Approximately 13 Hours to Complete, and I Used a Raft for Support, So I Can Confirm That This Method Works Successfully. However, Printing Without a Raft Is Done at Your Own Risk. As Some Users Have Experienced Model Flipping on Thingiverse, Make Sure the Treasure Chest is Printed in a Normal Position with the Bottom Resting Flat on a Surface to Avoid Issues During the Printing Process. You Can Refer to the Included Picture Showing the Chest Sitting Flat on Its Raft for Proper Orientation. If There Is Sufficient Interest, I Am Willing to Create a Version of This Model That Includes a Closing Latch for Added Functionality and Convenience.
