Treadmill spanner for Mill
thingiverse
As many others have, I've converted my mini mill's motor to a treadmill motor. The larger motor boasts more torque at low speed and should reach a higher top speed when its controller is replaced. I made this conversion after the original motor started to fail. The method I used for this conversion involved replacing the pully that had provided a spot for a tommy bar spindle lock, so I created this wrench to hold the spindle when changing collets/chucks and tightening the spindle nut. The spanner only fits on one side of the treadmill pully, so be sure you use the correct side up in your application. The other side has a spot for the RPM sensor magnet and casting artifacts. Let me know if you'd like to see more details about my X2 mill conversion.
