This solder heat press design is specifically crafted for embedding threaded inserts into 3D printed parts, enhancing their structural integrity and utility. At the core of this design is an integrated soldering iron, meticulously attached via a lead screw mechanism, which provides precise heat application essential for melting the inserts into place. The design incorporates a robust frame to house the soldering iron, ensuring the threaded inserts are evenly embedded. along with magnets to hold the moving assembly up when not in use and small storage bins to help keep your workspace organized.The hardware requirements for assembly include a comprehensive set of fasteners and magnetic components: 11 M3 Threaded inserts10 M3x6 Bolts1 M3x10 Bolt4 M3x12 Bolts4 3mm x 6mm MagnetsI used MGN12H linear rail carriage and a 150mm linear rail but the design supports any length of linear rail. As for the soldering iron I used a HS-01 soldering iron but I have published the STEP files so feel free to remix the design to fit your soldering iron and post a remix!The inclusion of these non-3D printed parts is critical for the assembly's functionality, offering a blend of mechanical integrity and operational precision.
