Traxxas Summit/E-Revo extended receiver box

thingiverse

This is an extended receiver box designed specifically for the Traxxas Summit/E-revo. Tested and fit perfectly with a 42mm bl motor and 14 tooth pinion. May not fit with 775 titan motor; I was unable to test it, but relocating the mounting holes a few millimeters inward may resolve the issue. INFO: Regarding the cover, there are two versions: one featuring a Traxxas logo and one without. The version with the logo is 0.25mm thicker, which is why I recommend a 0.25mm layer height. Additionally, all flat panels are 1mm thick, so four layers would be more than sufficient for strength. The cover is designed to be watertight, ensuring a snug fit. Depending on your printer, you may need to file off some of the sides of the box to achieve a secure fit. You'll require six pieces of M3x6mm button head screws for this box. Two screws will mount the box to the chassis's stock mounting points, and four screws will secure the top cover in place. The mounting points on the top cover are approximately 6mm deep, so keep this in mind when assembling. Printing Info: Layer Height: 0.25mm Infill: 100% Since there are no curved objects (except for the Trx logo), you can print it faster than usual to save some printing time. A speed of 60-70mm/s should be sufficient. Print the object flat side down, and wait until the parts have cooled completely before removal to prevent deformation. UPDATE: I've just uploaded the v2 version. Changes include relocating the mounting holes to the chassis, adding a 0.1mm tolerance to the cover, and increasing the wall thickness of the sidewalls, bottom, and cover by 0.25mm. I also made a "cutoff" next to the motor mount for additional clearance and added 1 cm height to the sidewalls to accommodate more gadgets inside. My BEC and receiver fit perfectly in the v2 version. Notes: The v2 version is backward compatible, but a v1 cover will not fit a v2 box. Be cautious when handling the cover, as the L-shaped lip may be prone to breaking down if the wires are too tight. I may reinforce this area in the future or design an entirely new part.
