I modified the original design of 'traxxas summit roof mount' (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2229971) to create a robust and protective platform for my 1:10 scale summit. The platform is engineered to withstand the rigors of off-road adventures, providing a stable base for my camera to capture high-quality footage. To ensure maximum protection, I designed the mount to be longer than the original, allowing me to secure a cheap Call of Duty Ghosts action camera in place via a 1/4-20 screw. The cage is strategically positioned around the camera, providing four points of attachment via 8-32 nuts and bolts that securely fasten it to the mount platform. This setup ensures that my camera remains safe even if the summit rolls over or takes a tumble. To test its durability, I printed the modified design at 30% infill with two shells, and the results are impressive – the platform seems sturdy enough to withstand the demands of off-road driving.
