Traxxas Slash 2wd Wheelie Bar
thingiverse
This is a simple wheelie bar I designed for my Traxxas Slash 2wd VXL as it spent far too much time on its roof! In addition to the printed parts you will need the following parts: 2x 625 bearings 2x M5x20 countersunk head bolts 2x BS210 O-rings 4x 4.8mm wide cable ties/zip ties/zap straps/whatever other name for these that floats your boat The wheels are sized to fit snugly onto the bearings. Once the bearings are in place, snap an O-ring into the groove on the outside of the wheel and bolt them firmly. Then just tie the whole assembly to the rear bumper of the Slash with cable ties. The pictures should clearly show everything you need. I haven't fully tested this yet, but I can't see any reason why it won't work perfectly. I'll update this after I've given the Slash a few more thrashings. UPDATE - I took the Slash to my local BMX track today and had some serious fun. I did a few jumps, took a few tumbles, and nothing broke! The downside is it was wet and I struggled to put the power down. I still managed a couple of wheelies, and only had one flip, so the effectiveness of the bar is still up for debate. It seems tough enough, though... UPDATE 2 - Yesterday I took the Slash to a local skate park and gave it a good bashing. The wheelie bar did not survive. Both wheels smashed on landing big jumps, although the frame of the wheelie bar was fine. Looks like tougher wheels are in order.
