Traxxas Slash 2wd HCG Chassis Saver

Traxxas Slash 2wd HCG Chassis Saver

thingiverse

I designed a simple chassis saver for my Traxxas Slash 2wd with High Centre of Gravity chassis. The original design was made by Proline a few years ago to address the weak point where the transmission bolts to the chassis. However, when Proline started producing their own chassis, they stopped manufacturing these protectors. Note: This part should not be 3D printed. It needs to be either CNC or hand-cut from aluminium. I used 3mm thick sheet for my version and created a template using an STL file to guide the cutting, drilling, and filing process by hand. To assemble the chassis saver, two holes must be drilled under the ESC mount, as shown in the images. You will also need two M4x12 countersunk bolts and two M3x25 cap head bolts (these replace the original chassis-to-transmission bolts). Adding a third M4 bolt through the drain hole under the ESC is optional but not strictly necessary.
