This stone has been the classic choice for construction, particularly for facing and paving. Calcareous alabaster is used in polished slabs and as ornamental objects. Essential minerals: Calcite or Aragonite, often accompanied by Limonite impurities. Non-essential minerals: Frequently found fossils and imprints of plants, especially, but sometimes none at all; minor amounts of clays may also be present.
