Traveler's Notebook Spine

Traveler's Notebook Spine

When using a Traveler's Notebook (TN), the elastic rope used to secure inner notebooks simultaneously creates an issue: it cuts into the edge of the zipper case, which is usually big and blue. In the worst-case scenario, the rope and the edge of the zipper case will work together like two saws, constantly cutting each other until one breaks the other. To avoid this risk, I created a plastic spine to address the problem. This solution has several benefits: 1. It keeps the rope away from the edge of the zipper case, ensuring both remain safe. 2. It can secure the zipper case almost as effectively as the rope itself. 3. It maintains the shape of the leather cover on the TN. To install the spine: First, attach the zipper case using the same elastic rope that secures the inner notebooks. Then, thread the rope through holes at each end of the plastic spine and secure it in place.
