TRAV 2.0
thingiverse
The TRAV 2.0 project is now taking shape. Anyone interested in following along can track the process here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2722396. Background: I first constructed the original Trav (Terra Roving Autonomous Vehicle) back in 2015 using a hobby-grade RC electric 4x4 truck as its base. Goal: The objective is to not only create a fully functional rover but also make it robust enough for off-roading adventures with friends. This challenge has proven more daunting than initially thought due to the harsh treatment crawlers endure and the diverse terrain they traverse - from mud to water, rock crawling, and everything in between. Trav 2.0 will feature autonomous capabilities with obstacle avoidance as well as human control options and planned GPS integration. Its design is inspired by the NASA Curiosity Rover (minus the MMRTG power plant, of course). It boasts independent 6-wheel drive and 4-wheel steering, along with three steering modes and a rocker bogie suspension system. A 3S battery will power Trav.
With this file you will be able to print TRAV 2.0 with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on TRAV 2.0.
