Trash can
pinshape
I wanted a compact trash can to sit beside my printer and keep it tidy. It's astonishing how many small plastic scraps I generate when working with this machine. Instead of running to the store, I decided to give myself a fun challenge. First, I printed a miniature version that would serve as a pen holder to test my settings before printing the larger one. The results were impressive, and I was eager to move on to the bigger project. Printer Details: * Printer: Monoprice Maker Select v2.1 * Rafts: None * Supports: None * Resolution: 0.32 mm * Infill: 20% * Notes: Since I don't plan to be rough with the can, I prioritized speed over strength by using 0.4 mm thick walls and 20% infill. Time will tell if this is a weak point, but it feels surprisingly good – a bit flexible and light, yet tougher than expected. The small pen holder was a great warm-up exercise to test my settings, and I like how the infill pattern shows up on the outside. Given my nozzle diameter of 0.4 mm, I set the height to 80% of that, which is 0.32 mm. I'd read somewhere that it's a good idea to use slightly less material for tall objects, but this worked out perfectly in the end.
