Trash Can Bag Clip - Parameterized
thingiverse
UPDATE 02/2021: I have released v2 after testing for a bit, and I'm thrilled with the results! The original version had one major flaw - it tended to tear the bag and be difficult to remove. But not anymore! The updated design is much easier to remove thanks to the addition of a tab and an extended outer part below the curve. I highly recommend printing this clip in something flexible or at 100% infill, as I've personally cracked two of them trying to put them on. To be honest, I got tired of watching my trash bag fall into the can after my son carelessly tossed out the included extra-large rubber band. So, I decided to take matters into my own hands and design a simple clip to hold the bag in place. The trash can I have is featured in the thumbnail, and it has an inner metal can with the bag inserted inside. The pretty outer shell then gets lowered over it. The inner steel can has its top rolled over to blunt it, measuring about 7mm in diameter. My clip snaps onto that and then the long side rotates into the can, securely holding the bag in place. I've printed four of them, and so far, they're doing their job perfectly. OpenSCAD file included for your convenience!
