The main objective of the Trapper Canoe Project's rod holder design was to mirror the brand's high-quality and craftsmanship while prioritizing user convenience and durability. The compact holder would consist of aluminum extrusions, RTM parts, wooden and stainless steel machined components, and purchased hardware. The holder is secured on the canoe side with a latching lever that's easily pressed down to lock in place. Cork-lined clamping jaws provide non-marring cushioning. The rod holder rotates at its base by pulling a stainless steel ring and releasing it at the desired position, thanks to teeth on the main pivot shaft. It can also be tilted to the preferred angle by adjusting the clamping knob on the center riser's side, with serrations at the pivoting faces ensuring security. Designed for all conditions, including rough water and sand, the holder allows easy pole removal for fishing with a simple lift once a fish is caught. It accommodates poles from 5/8" to 1-1/8" in diameter due to torsion springs on the wooden roller arms. In essence, it's easy to use and built for a lifetime!
