Romania is home to Rhodochrosite, a stunning mineral that measures just 6 cm x 2 cm x 2 cm in size. Its formula is MnCO3, and it displays a unique trigonal symmetry. This manganese carbonate has the ability to occur in massive or columnar form, making each specimen truly one-of-a-kind. Rhodochrosite is closely related to calcite and siderite, with a hardness of 3.5-4 on the Mohs scale and a specific gravity of 3.7.
