It can be found in almost every type of mineral environment and plays a crucial role in forming numerous rocks. Its remarkable diversity makes it the most varied mineral known to date, manifesting itself in an array of forms, habits, and colors. Quartz boasts an impressive array of names, with more varieties than any other mineral. The crystal habits of Quartz are highly variable, but its most common manifestation is as hexagonal prisms terminated by a six-sided pyramid, as clearly seen in this specimen.
