This revolutionary desk organizer is my entry for the Autodesk Fusion 360 Challenge. Designed to seamlessly integrate into compact workspaces, this innovative piece expands to unveil additional compartments and features when needed. The top platform boasts elevated walls that expertly hold loose items within easy reach, while a sleek rotation mechanism allows it to pivot counter-clockwise around its back-right corner, revealing a hidden compartment inside the unit. A prominent finger hole outlined in white on the front-left corner provides users with effortless interaction opportunities. Meanwhile, the bottom compartment swings open clockwise and can be accessed via a conveniently designed finger recess. Both moving parts are precision-engineered to rotate precisely 90 degrees, driven by clever mechanical features embedded within the top and base of the unit. Although this project remains in the conceptual phase prior to prototyping or 3D printing, meticulous attention has been devoted to CAD design, ensuring smooth assembly, accurate clearances, and tolerance considerations that will make it a joy to use.
