Transformers HeadMaster Monzo - WeirdWolf's Trainer
thingiverse
After countless hours of hard work, I'm thrilled to present something that I've never seen anyone else achieve before - a fully functional, printable HeadMaster! This is Monzo, the Headmaster Trainer from WeirdWolf, brought to life from some photos and one of the few Headmasters with a head I managed to get my hands on (Hardhead). With meticulous attention to detail, Monzo can transform seamlessly into the head of WeirdWolf just like the original toy from Nebulon. I simplified the design by omitting certain details that were difficult to print while still maintaining its functionality and aesthetic appeal. The face features a flip-down panel to conceal it in Robot mode, the arms move freely, and the legs are fully articulated. In fact, the original Headmasters had a metal pin joint for the legs, which connected the two knees together, but this design choice compromised the independent movement of each leg. By removing the knee pin, I've made this print more poseable than its counterpart. A quick note: the peg holes are slightly larger than the standard peg size, allowing most FDM printers to assemble it without any issues. However, if you're using a high-end FDM printer or a resin printer, they might be a tad loose. A small amount of glue can help alleviate this issue. The stats are accurate, ensuring that when you connect it to the Headmaster body, it will display correctly. I've uploaded three files: one containing the complete headmaster, another with the Grey parts, and the final one with the Blue parts. Assembling it should be straightforward, but I've included a small box to aid in aligning the head plate with the body, which requires gluing onto the back. The rest clips into place easily. Remember to position the upper legs correctly, with the bump facing forward and the circular protrusion on the knee connection located on the outside. As you may know, all Headmasters were created using two distinct plastic colors. For Monzo, this should be a light grey and a dark greenish blue. Due to limitations in filament colors, I opted for standard grey and bright blue instead. The only official paint applications were on the headmaster's face and the main robot's mouth, which was red in WeirdWolf's case. With this template now complete, I'm eager to create more Headmasters as any Transformer collector will attest - a missing headmaster head can be the most frustrating loss of all. Guns and missiles are annoying, but still allow for a functional robot. Hands can be a challenge, but heads are the worst. Lose a headmaster head, and your robot becomes headless!
