This ball jointed foot is perfect for your Combiner Wars, or any other 5mm peg compatible Transformers gestalts. It's heavily inspired by the original G1 Defense Fortress foot. The foot body and ball joint module are designed as two separate parts to prevent damage if one part fails. You can also use the ball joint in your own custom designs. To make things easier, I've removed some trouble spots from the design. To print the ball joint without issues, try printing with a 100% infill using PLA and no fans on the sphere itself. This will give you a nice, smooth peg that's free of supports, stringing, and scarring. If your printer struggles, slow down your print speed (I use 30-40mm/s) to avoid excess filament flow. Three different ball sizes - 14.8, 14.7, and 14.6 - are included for you to test which one fits best on your figure. Once the sphere is done, turn on the fans fully to get a smooth finish. When combining the parts, be aware that the ball may need some sanding before it fits snugly in the socket. I achieve this by using a drill and sanding sponge (see attached pic). Just apply gentle pressure - too much force could damage the figure's port. It's also essential to smoothen all the balls to get the best results for your printer. Important note: if you force a jammed joint, you may damage the socket on your Combiner Wars figure. Print multiple balls and try them out before printing the whole gestalt. Additionally, depending on your printer quality, you might need to sand down the sides of both modules. Printing details are up to personal preference; I prefer 0.8mm shell with a 10% infill, perimeters after infill, and print each part individually. Hope you enjoy using this foot module! UPDATE: Added four final files for the socket and balls - corrected socket inlet, smoothened bottom, thicker peg, modified connection, and a diameter range of 14.7, 14.75, and 14.8 for easier use on accurate printers. ABS is a better material than PLA for this design, offering more flexibility. Also note that printing at maximum infill can result in a slightly looser fit - experiment with different settings to find your optimal combination.
