This clever device features a base comprising two slots crossing each other at precise right angles. Two sliders are precisely confined within these slots and are secured to a handle via pivots (screws) strategically positioned along its length. The mechanism is specifically designed for crafting perfect ellipses by placing a writing instrument at the end of the handle while completing a full rotation. As it happens, this unique device often finds its way into novelty shops where it's marketed under intriguing names like Bullshit Grinder, Bullshit Masher or Do-Nothing Machine. Notably, many of these names are preceded with state names such as Arkansas, Kentucky and so on. It appears that locals use this naming convention to poke fun at their neighboring states.
