In 1949, Konstal's Chorzów factory produced tramcar type N, inspired by Germany's Kriegsstraßenbahnwagen (KSW) or "wartime" tram. The KSW design featured a simplified structure for wartime production and usage efficiency. Tramcar type N found its place on Bytom City's line No 38.
