Tram Loco for 0-16.5 to run on Hornby 0-4-0 mechanism

Revised design to follow soon (narrower and lower plus some other changes) Having been working on locomotives using the earlier Hornby mechanism that is notorious for its excessive speed, I have found a supply of replacement motors that will cure this. I purchased some from AliExpress to try them out and designed this tram loco as a testbed. The loco is based on standard gauge tram locos that worked on the Wisbech Tramway, on which I believe the Rev Awdrey based Toby in his stories. The footplate is based on the one designed for the coffeepot loco but with skirts and a larger cutout for the mechanism. The body is complete apart from the separately printed grilles and the roof is the only other part. As the new Chinese motors greatly improve the slow running I have included an adapter piece to replace the original top-hat spacer, for anybody who wants to replace the Hornby motor. Please note that the Hornby clip does not fit this motor. I held it in position with hot melt glue. The replacement motors are (from AliExpress) "4PCS 130 Motor DC 6V-12V Small Motor Precious Metal Brush Miniature Four-Wheel 4WD 6800RPM DIY Toys Hobbies Smart Car" The 6800RPM speed at 12V and a low starting voltage give slow minimum speed and starting speed but with plenty of torque. Hornby are now using a motor that is probably of a similar design but they are not yet available as spare parts.
