The trajinera is a type of flat-bottomed boat made from wooden planks and waterproofed with a petroleum-based rubber called chapopote in Mexico. It's used to transport 10 to 25 people across calm and shallow waters, with a draft no deeper than 30 cm and a beam of 3 meters, which moves through the water by using poles placed on the bottom of the body of water it travels through.
