Train Wall Art - LNER A4 Steam train
thingiverse
Wall art modeled after the LNER Class A4 steam locomotives. There were thirty-five of these steam trains produced in total, designed by Sir Nigel Gresley. Six of them remain operational today, and one of them, named Mallard, holds the world speed record for steam trains at 126 miles per hour. They have a fascinating history that I recommend looking up. This model isn't entirely accurate, especially as they modified the styles of the trains over time, but it's largely accurate enough. The STL file is usually the only file you'll need (unless you're printing in sections, then it's the Section STLs), but I included the Sketchup file and a gcode for an Ender 3 in case someone wants them. This is still a work in progress; I'd like to make a few aesthetic tweaks, etc. If you have any suggestions, let me know. Update: I added files for printing it in sections. There are .4mm wide connections in some places that need to be removed after assembly, but it allows for printing it bigger or on smaller printers. The six files titled Section are for this kind of print. Please share your prints if you enjoy this; I'd love to see them.
