OS-Railway is a comprehensive railway kit in 1:45 scale, designed from the ground up for full 3D-printability with a 32mm track width. Everything, from tracks and switches to locomotives and cars, accessories are specifically created to be printable. Fusion 360-files are available! Click here to download the track in Fusion 360 format: http://www.depronized.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=73 Please share any modified versions using these files as a derivation of this page on Thingiverse, so others can find them. Update 7/11/2017 Several tracks have been added, along with prepared build plates and a track-application tool that connects to the end of a track. This allows for easy addition of cars and locomotives to the track. Orientation has also been fixed on all STL's to ensure correct placement in the slicer from the start. Update 1/11/2017 Turnouts have been moved to a separate page to keep things clear: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2619888 Update 8/4/2017 User McTimmi has created a configurable track page which is amazing! Check it out here:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2221916 and create any length of the track you want! Trains and other parts are uploaded to their own pages to avoid clutter. The track gauge is 32mm (O-scale), but 3D-printability takes priority over scale. Design aspects have been adopted for 3D-printing: Design for 100% infill. All structures are designed to use minimal material, such as the tracks which get stronger and more flexible with 100% infill. They consume about 1g/cm, allowing for approximately 10meter track per kg roll! Designed for easy printing - The number of parts is strategically limited to minimize print time. Orientation and design are specially made for the 3D printing process. Avoiding support - Parts are organized and split in such a way that the requirement for support structure is removed or very limited. This is just the first part, many more will be added later! Print Settings: Printer: Prusa i3 mk2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.25 Infill: 100% Notes: Using lower layer height than 0,25mm will not add strength or any useful aspect, so I recommend 0,25mm for a speedy print which will work perfectly (atleast for me with the standard Prusa i3 mk2). Post-Printing: Track connection If you feel that the tracks pieces are too difficult to connect, just sand or scrape with a knife on the parts until you get the result you want. One thing that may not be obvious is that if you have a badly calibrated first layer, especially if it's squeezed, the extruded lines tend to be wider so you might need to trim it a bit. You can see this if you look at the bottom of the part if the edges stick out compared to the rest of the part.
