Train toy - Chucuchú
thingiverse
A humorous and simple train toy was made for my university's car race at Carlos III, Madrid. To get a better view of its operation, check out the rendered image and files V1 .scad and .stl (note that these are not printable). A video demonstration can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTDau6R_qxk (please note that photos and video are from an older version, as I haven't had the time to print the new one yet). Enjoy! To assemble the train, first print its four parts and glue them together using a hot glue gun or strong adhesive. For the axles and mechanism, print four castor wheels (from Obijuan->thing:7989) with these specifications: oring_diameter=20 (Internal diameter); oring_thickness=3; drill=4 (depending on your metallic threaded rod thickness); wheel_width=6 (adjustable width). You will need four o-rings with a diameter of 20mm for the wheels. For each axis, you'll also require a metallic threaded rod measuring 4x75mm in diameter and length. Don't forget to print an elastic-band-holder and attach an elastic band. Additionally, use hex nuts to secure all components as shown in the provided photo (feel free to improve the design). To hold the elastic band, either drill a hole on part 3 or use an eye lag.
With this file you will be able to print Train toy - Chucuchú with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Train toy - Chucuchú.
