Trailer Jack Footplate
prusaprinters
I designed this Jack footplate for my Nucamp TagXL because, instead of finding a few pieces of wood or buying a generic one, I wanted to create something with a bit more character. This design fits jacks with an tube inner diameter of no less than 43mm and a pin diameter of no more than 12mm (there’s a diagram to illustrate these numbers).I printed mine using Polymaker's black PLA pro, which is sufficient for my lightweight camping trailer. If I had a heavier trailer, I would opt for materials like ASA or carbon fiber reinforced nylon. However, I might reprint this in ASA in the future to enhance its UV resistance. In OrcaSlicer, I split the model into two sections: the upper section uses 5 perimeters, 6 top layers, and 25% infill; the lower section has 3 perimeters, 6 bottom layers, and 15% infill to maximize strength in key stress areas while minimizing material usage.I have included a .step file in the documents, so if you are interested but need to adjust the parameters, you can do so with the step file.
