While performing maintenance on a loved one's trailer, the grease fittings on the axles were compromised by dust, dirt, and road grime. To ensure proper greasing of the bearings, these fittings needed to be thoroughly cleaned. Fortunately, the trailer was equipped with bearing protectors, but unfortunately, every single protector was missing its protective cap. Now that the protective caps are in place, the likelihood of this problem recurring is greatly diminished. This design is specifically tailored for printing with a flexible filament, allowing it to stretch seamlessly over the outside of the bearing. A small relief feature is incorporated near where the end of the bearing housing sits, enabling the cover to be pushed onto the bearing without any constraints from the flat end.
