Trailcam laser aiming plate
thingiverse
This is an adapter plate which sits on top of a 1/4-20 camera mount (such as a ballhead) and allows a cheap laser pointer (16.2mm in diameter, plus or minus) to be temporarily mounted to the bottom of the trailcam. This allows you to use the laser pointer to roughly aim where the trailcam is pointing to help you target the area you are expecting. This is especially helpful when mounting your camera up in a tree higher than head height, and easier than setting the camera and taking a picture to review. There are two models - the "smaller" should be reasonably universal to fit most camera mounting systems and not interfere with any protrusions on the bottom of the camera. The "larger" model has a larger surface to sit flush against more of the camera's bottom but may interfere with some cameras protrusions. It fits my Spypoint camera fine since it is mainly flat along the bottom, but one of my other cheapo cameras from Amazon has a protrusion near the front face on the bottom which presses the plate and warps it slightly. It may cause a few degrees of deflection for the laser pointer, so it is advised to use the "smaller" plate if your camera is not flat on the bottom.Should fit this mount well:https://www.etsy.com/listing/896877915/adjustable-trail-cam-mount-public-landLaser pointer I used:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C5LSH9C4
