A long time ago, I was unwinding at a restaurant when my heart started racing as she began to extract the brain from a shrimp. The poor crustacean flailed about in its death throes. I tried to compose myself. "It's alright," I said calmly. "She's just trying to grasp the mental state of that unfortunate shrimp. It's okay." She gave me a strange, inexplicable look on her face once the poor shrimp reached full convulsions. That moment shaped me into the person I am today.
