Tractive GPS clip with retainer
thingiverse
Took Lazarus' original GPS clip and added numerous reinforcements, cut out a space for the charging clip, installed studs for enhanced collar grip and created a retainer that fastens securely with M3 bolts and nuts for effortless removal. It's not visually appealing, but it appears to function properly. Tested on an extremely active dachshund, despite its age exceeding 11 years. The dog is also known as a forest sausage. For the mounting of the retainer, I utilized M3x6 bolts and M3 nuts. <b>Update: July 20, 2019:</b> After a year of heavy use, I've made a minor update to the overall design. Added additional material around the mounting holes for both halves of the clip. This should make it more robust. The V2 model includes both the clip and the retainer in one file, printed in the recommended orientation. I recommend printing with PETG instead of PLA. This will result in a longer-lasting product. <b>Update: July 28, 2018:</b> Cleaned up the models slightly and added additional reinforcements. Also rounded the edges of the clip arms. Found that both pieces print more easily when printed on their sides (and makes the entire design more resilient) so I re-oriented the models accordingly. Supports are now highly recommended. The holes for the nuts will be snug, requiring some force to install them securely. I use a screw to pull the nuts in place.
