TrackPoint extender
thingiverse
This is a DIY mechanical keyboard extender for the IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad series track point. I've used this extender in my custom project, and each one has unique dimensions, allowing you to choose the best fit for your needs. For optimal performance, consider using rasping techniques. Hello! I'm having trouble remembering all the details about the project, but I can share some links from my bookmarks that might help: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=8971.msg775152#msg775152 https://imgur.com/a/O6BdH https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=55960.msg1269252#msg1269252 https://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/155662/old-ibm-trackpoint-pin-scheme http://html.alldatasheetpt.com/html-pdf/19764/PHILIPS/PTPM754ADB/503/2/PTPM754ADB.html https://github.com/tmk/tmk_keyboard/wiki#flash-firmware https://github.com/tmk/tmk_keyboard/blob/master/tmk_core/doc/build.md To get you started in the right direction, here's a key point to remember: all track points are essentially simple PS/2 mice. To connect it to your system, you'll need to create a PS/2 to USB converter using a Teensy 2. Alternatively, if your motherboard has a PS/2 port, you can simply connect the TrackPoint to it, but be prepared for some basic soldering with two resistors and one capacitor. Good luck with your project!
