TrackIR+Headset mount
thingiverse
This is an innovative remix based on zx82net's design of his Quick Release Picatinny Rail Mount and his metric Picatinny rail. I was frustrated by having to wear a hat indoors (which looked uncool :D) and a headset on top of that, so I created an adjustable version of a headset mount, eliminating the need for a hat altogether. This design was printed using PETG for extra durability. The mount I came up with isn't designed for just any headset; it fits the Beyerdynamic mmx300 gen.2 perfectly. Three models were made: one was marked old, as it was ugly and primitive, another is slim, for headsets with less than 0.7cm thickness, and the final one is for thick headset bands, hence a height of about 2.5cm (leather, etc.). The slim version can be found under the final version of the f3d file. All parts listed in stl must be printed out. Assembly requires M3 bolts; no nuts are needed. The angle of the TrackIR can be manipulated slightly with the headset mount as it isn't a tight down fix, but I am going to create a PIC raiser/"angler" soon so that the tracking solution is even better without needing any adjustment. I may also make a better fixing solution with a thumb thread for fitting any headset at all. I highly recommend personalizing the model for your exact headset for the best experience!
