Tracked Tank with movable turret
thingiverse
I messed up big time and missed the tank body with holes entirely, but I managed to get it printed and installed on top of my Printrbot. I also added a new hollow tank that has 3mm thick walls and prints much faster than the first one. I designed a sleeker turret called Newturrett3a, which turned out pretty smooth. Both versions work great, so you can choose either one. My Printrbot struggled with printing the top part, so if I were to do it again, I'd add some supports. A trick I use is adding 2mm cylinders that can be easily broken off after printing. The hollow tank has a hole at the bottom for easy removal or can be used as a trojan horse. I really liked the original tank design by Shimongraff but wanted to print the axles separately from the rest of the tank. I'm not a fan of using supports and if one fails, the whole project is ruined. That's why I added sockets for the axles so they can be printed individually when needed. The tracks aren't as tight as I'd like them to be, but I'll leave it as is for now. My other modification was adding a turret that could elevate using connectors in TinkerCAD. It's not the most efficient design, but I had a blast working through the process. There's definitely room for improvement, so feel free to experiment with it if you're interested. Importing STL files into TinkerCAD is incredibly easy.
