This project features a tracked robot chassis designed to support a ZEB1 Lidar scanner (check out http://www.beckengineering.com.au/?page_id=2441 for more information). The rover boasts a lightweight yet heavy-duty chassis, motors, motor mounts, drive wheel and suspension for the tracks and swing arms taken from the Dagu T'Rex, along with a mounting arm that includes an oscillating mount for the ZEB1. You can see a video of it in action with the ZEB1 mounted and scanning a house at https://youtu.be/p9bI1B1qdbc. Videos without the oscillating mount are also available at https://youtu.be/_8VQwqkNp9o. The upgraded chassis accommodates new motors, replacing the drive sprocket and gearboxes with helper springs that increase cargo capacity. The sprocket has been resized to properly engage with the tracks and fits a popular 12V metal gear motor. Adjustments can be made to the motor alignment for better tracking. With a 5000mAh LiPo battery, it runs for 30-45 minutes. Custom Hardware Includes: 02 x MEC-30148 : 131:1 Metal Gearmotor 37D x 57L mm (12V) 02 x MEC-30182 : Pololu Universal Aluminum Mounting Hub for 6mm Shaft M3 Holes Aluminium RHS - See rhino file for details. I include a drilling template to attach T'Rex suspension components. assorted screws, nuts, washers 4x100mm RC Car springs Additional necessary items can be found at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:996812, including the drilling guide and suspension spacer used to attach helper springs to swing arms. This project was initially designed as a sufficient upgrade for the Dagu T'Rex to carry more load but ultimately required a more comprehensive re-build due to insufficient motors/gearboxes.
