Tracked robotic base "Ryszard"
thingiverse
Hello! This is my first bigger project. I designed a modular tracked platform with provided mountpoints that meet my needs. The track link geometry was inspired by Drogerdy Raspberry Pi robot's design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:652851). To connect the links, you will need 2mm diameter metal rods, which can be sourced from bike spokes. I'm using Pololu 37D motors (https://www.pololu.com/product/2826) for this project due to their performance and reliability. Each bigger wheel requires two 10x15x4 bearings, while each smaller wheel needs one 5x10x4 bearing. The motor-wheel connection is achieved through two M4 grub screws with a place provided for M4 nuts. To connect the frame parts, you will need M3 screws. The final dimensions of the fully assembled platform are: 336 mm long, 237 mm wide, and 78 mm high. Update 0.1 includes several new features: - Added floor to provide extra stability - Added Arduino Mega Mounting plate for easy installation - Added a flap in the floor to access the Arduino more easily, secured by four 4mm diameter and 4mm height neodymium magnets - Modified the geometry of Track Assembly Connector, Front Connector, and Rear Connector for improved performance I purchased about 6 kg of filament to ensure I have enough material to complete this project and make any necessary improvements. Currently, I have printed both track assemblies, assembly connectors, front and rear connectors, which were successfully tested by plugging in the motors to a battery. The platform works smoothly and efficiently, so you can print it without worrying about any major issues. You can see the robot in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ic8SceNALk My weekly to-do list includes: - Print floor - Print Arduino Mounting plate and Arduino Flap - Print Battery mount - Install DC motor controller - Install Arduino - Install PS3 Pad controller - Make some photos - Create a rough version of the wiring - Test everything - Make necessary adjustments I would be grateful for any comments or suggestions you may have to help me improve this project. Print Settings: Printer: 3Novatica Gate Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 25% Notes: PLA, printed on glass with capton tape using 25% infill without brims or rafts. Partlist: You will need two assemblies like this upside (for left and right side), which are symmetrical.
