Embrace simulation fans with a passion for planes, cars, or trucks; introduce them to FaceTrackNoIR software, which offers similar results to a TrackIR v5 at a fraction of the cost. This innovative tool allows users to control their in-game character's head movements, providing enhanced immersion in the game. To use FaceTrackNoIR, simply attach a webcam and your beautiful face to the action. However, be aware that facial tracking can strain processor resources. To counter this, consider adopting IR led tracking instead – it's highly reactive and consumes only 5-10% of CPU usage. For optimal results, pair a PlayStation Eye (available for just €17 on Amazon) with a floppy disk-filtered IR light source. A varifocus lens ($20 on eBay) can be used to replace the removed IR filter without compromising focus. Assemble your DIY IR tracker using three LEDs ($4.50 on eBay), a 300mAh 1S nano-tech battery (less than €10 on HobbyKing), and some wires and shrink tubes. This setup will grant you over five hours of gameplay. To wear the headset, print the parts flat, heat them to 60-80°C, and apply directly to your head. Then, glue together TrackClip_Simple_Headset_short and TrackClip_Simple_Headset_long for a custom fit.
