It's a custom-designed housing solution for restricting the range of thumb mobility. The internal mechanism can be that of another trackball, as long as the ball fits within the model, which accommodates any sphere up to 2 inches in diameter. This shape meets ergonomic criteria for complete relaxation of the thumb.
