Track Mounted, Magnetic Lure Keeper

Track Mounted, Magnetic Lure Keeper

After a day of fishing, I always end up with a cluttered kayak floor, cup holder, and surrounding area littered with hooks, jigs, and lures. To tackle this problem, I designed a solution in Fusion 360. The base features 12mm x 3mm neodymium magnets from Home Depot, which were roughened with 80 grit sandpaper before being secured with super glue. The entire assembly is held together by Yakattack mighty bolts tightened with 1/4 - 20 nuts embedded in knurled knobs. I printed the main compartment using PETG and the liner made of semiflex TPU. Any filament will suffice, but I found this combination to be ideal for the task. The liner allows easy removal of hooks and lures from the magnets, making it simple to sort and return them to tackle boxes once they dry. Both the box and liner feature drainage holes to prevent water accumulation - these may need adjustments after real-world testing. For those interested in tackling this problem, I hope this design proves helpful. Tight lines!
