Track Helix Ramp

Track Helix Ramp

We have a H0 model train with a track helix for ROCO R4/R5 track. The helix boards are 8.3mm thick. The lowest helix board is screwed to the layout base plate. To get the track from these 8.3mm down to the base plate we needed a ramp. This ramp follows the same curve as the helix boards, and goes from 8.3mm down to 0.2mm. The ramp is split into 2 parts (curved_ramp_1.stl, curved_ramp_2.stl) so that it can fit on the print plate (see photos, it takes up almost the entire print plate). The ramp was created via OpenSCAD. The SCAD file is included so that ramps for other radii, heights,… can be generated. Screw holes with countersink are generated (if position and diameter for these are provided), countersink is not applied if the ramp is too thin (e.g. 0.2mm end in our example)The pre-sliced files are for PETG (because I had that loaded in the printer at the time), and are at 0.15mm layer height (because I did not check this before slicing, and did not want to waste an already started print).
