TPU hinges
thingiverse
I'm an instruction librarian who works in a Makerspace. A book art librarian shared Tom's Orihon with me years ago, and I thought it would work really well as an assignment for the right class. - I modified the pivot hinge to two files that can be printed with our dual-material Ultimaker 3, making the book act like a traditional codex format by sandwiching TPU inside PLA. - I recessed the pins to make adding and removing plates easier and more efficient. - As for expanding the hinge to accommodate more plates, I have no immediate plans but am open to exploring this option if there's enough interest. The animated gif has no mounting pins; it showcases the hinge flex in action.
