TPU Dampening feet for Ender 3
thingiverse
Created for Ender 3 Pro, to absorb vibrations and shock. I designed these to stabilize the printer during high-speed prints, but was amazed by how effective they turned out to be. Should work on any printer which uses 2x2020 aluminium extrusions at the base. Two parts, each to be printed 4 times: 'Solid foot mount' printed in PETG (PLA or ABS/ASA might work fine too). 'TPU foot' printed in TPU Requires some minor disassembly to attach. For an Ender 3 Pro: 1. Remove existing rubber feet from base extrusions. 2. Remove plates covering front of base extrusions: a. On the right, remove two bolts attaching menu screen assembly to printer. b. On the left: i. First unscrew the bottom panel covering the electronics from the plate covering the left base extrusions. ii. Unscrew bolts which attach the plate to the front of the base extrusion. 3. Feed 1 solid mount onto the left base extrusion, unscrew and remove the bolts holding the vertical extrusion to the base extrusions (these prevent pushing the part right to the back of the printer), and push the solid mount to the back of the extrusion. Reattach bolts fixing the the vertical extrusions in place. 4. Repeat 3 on the right side. 5. Feed 2 remaining solid mounts onto base extrusions. 6. Reattach plates to both base extrusions. 7. Screw TPU feet onto solid mounts. 8. Position feet at the very back and very front of the extrusions.
