Does your cat like to sabotage your toilet paper? Yeah, so does mine. So I created this after several refinements. Design Objectives This is the Mk5, which encompasses a number of improvements over my previously shared design. The goals are straightforward: Block inquisitive/bored/"YOU'RE NEGLECTING ME" cats from tampering with the toilet paper Allow for easy/unobstructed access to the roll by humans who may be accused of neglecting their cats Printed without supports Stand upright so the layer lines are perpendicular to the toilet paper roll holder Provide a narrower entry point compared to previous versions Upgrade over previous designs: a hole throughout the shell to allow the roll holder to pass through, making changing rolls easier and providing more strength against cat pulling. Result This is in two pieces to facilitate easy roll changes while still blocking mischievous bathroom goblins from accessing the roll. The cap and main body have cutouts aligned with the window to enable users to spin the roll if necessary within the shell in case the loose end of paper is inaccessible. Printing Instructions You may need to flip the cap over so that the completely flat part is on the print bed, but otherwise it should be easy to figure out how to print. It's small enough to print as two separate jobs on most printers, but on a Prusa i3 MK3S I was able to rotate the slits to face each other and move the parts around to print both at once. With my standard .4mm nozzle, I used 2 perimeters, .2mm layer height, and 10% infill. The cap is designed with "lips" that fit over the main body, and the gap is .4mm to allow for a bit of tolerance. I could have tightened it up but I think this provides enough room for those with less accurate printers to still find this easily usable.
