Update 2023-07-03:I'm updating this model slightly after testing it in the real-world for a while:Added higher rails to each side to better support the back-endSwitched to PETG as the heat from my rack caused the PLA to sag over time. DescriptionThis is a 1U rackmount adapter that allows you to rack-mount a TP-Link ER7206 Omada VPN router. It includes a passthrough window for ease of cable routing from your WAN connection.Parts RequiredThis adapter is split into two pieces so that it fits on a standard print bed. To join the two halves together, you will need:2x M4 hex nuts2x M4-12 cap head screwsPrint InstructionsThe assembly in the pictures was printed at the following settings:Printer: Prusa i3 MK3SPrint Settings0.2mm layer height3 shells sides5 shells top and bottom20% infillFilament: PolyTerra Charcoal Black PLASupports: noneBrim: noneAssembly InstructionsPrint both halves of the assembly:If trying to match the powdercoat of your rack, print both halves with their faceplates pointing down into the bed.NOTE: printing in this orientation means your printer must bridge a 1" air gap and you may get some strings that need trimmed off.If you don't care about the appearance of the front plate, print them flat with faceplates standing vertical.Print both provided backstops and use whichever one brings your router flush with the front of the assembly. The backstops have one thicker side which faces the front of the assembly.Use two M4-12 bolts and nuts to join both halves of the assembly together.Mount empty assembly in your rack. NOTE: the router slides in from the front but IS NOT MECHANICALLY SECURED into the assembly. Add some double-sided tape on the shelf if you want to secure it in-place.Enjoy your sweet rack-mounted network appliances!
