On handy size vessel (150-200m) anchor weight 2-2.8t. Well, here is attempt to create working model of anchor lifter(windlass). Usually it is used with combination of 1 or 2 mooring winches. Model has not nice looking round edges, but I noticed that rounding produces big *.stl files, over Thingiverse limits. How to put it together: Most important are shaft and couplers. Slide insert in the shaft and coupler on it. Then chain wheel from one side and winch drum from the other. Do not forget side plates with brake and coupling lever. Choose left or right version depends on windlass position on the forecastle. Place second set of coupler and drum and end with warping head (warping head different sizes is part of capstan, which is often used on small ships and for handling mooring lines on well equiped port facilities. It is addition to winch model). Glue base frames between sides. Largest is as base for set windlass+2 winches. Coupling is made by rotating lever on the pin. You should drill small holes - 1 in the lever and 2-3 in the plate for small pin securing lever in each coupling position. Brake- I made it simple to show how it works. Nut in the pocket should rotate freely, because angle between lever and rod change a little during operation. Of course it needs some sanding to make it works. Anyway...
