Upgrade for ToyREP 3D Printer - Fan Mount to Cool Down Hotend When Printing PLA and Bridges. Made for 40mm fan as all other fan mounts on ToyREP. Intended and designed for E3D v5 extruder clone. BoM Printed fan duct - 1 pc Wood screw 3x16-20 - 4 pcs M3x16 screw- 2 pcs (already included in BoM of ToyREP - Fan Mount) Assembly If you already have ToyREP assembled, remove two M3x16 bottom screws on extruder fan mount. Put two M3x16 screws through fan opening to holes on sides of fan duct. Attach the duct to the extruder fan mount through bottom holes of 40mm fan that is already placed over cold end of extruder. Place 40mm fan over duct opening and attach it by four 3x20 wood screws (3x16 if their head fit into mounting holes of your fan). Mind orientation of the fan. When these steps are done, the fan duct should be 2mm above the tip of nozzle. The slit should be heading to the nozzle. Commissioning Make the fan wires long enough to reach electronics. Attach the fan + and - to empty extruder position on Ramps or other PWM controlled output and set it as a fan in firmware. Mind polarity. Omit signal and PWM wire - those are not required. Flash firmware and you are good to go. Warning It is really necessary to have this fan attached to PWM output so you can control it in slicing software. Otherwise if you use heatbed, this fan permanently turned ON will locally cool the print surface (that may cause warping) and prolong heating of heatbed and/or extruder. Print Settings Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.5mm nozzle, 0.25mm layer Infill: 30%
