Toyota Tundra Power Brake Bleeder Adapter

Toyota Tundra Power Brake Bleeder Adapter

thingiverse

This thing is an adapter to connect your brake power bleeder to the master cylinder of your Tundra and some other Toyotas & Lexus. I use this adapter with the power bleeder as an air source only. IOW, I don't transfer fluid from the bleeder pump container to the vehicle. Rather I just fill the MC, then pressurize it and bleed a brake, then refill the MC, do another, etc. Much neater that way. The threaded Euro bleeder adapter cap makes this easy. There are 2 files... one is the threaded adapter and the other is the clamp that holds it onto the MC. The adapter seals via the O-ring so all this clamp does is keep the adapter from coming off when the MC is pressurized by keeping if from sliding past the MC lip. The adapter accepts a standard power bleeder cap made to fit Euro master cylinders with 45mmx3mm threads. Clean off the supports trying not to gouge the slot where the o-ring goes. Make sure to give the printed male adapter threads several layers of Teflon tape to get this thing to seal up. To refill the MC during use, depressurize the MC then simply unscrew the power bleeder Euro adapter cap and top it up. Other parts needed: For the clamp 2 3mmx20mm screws A piece of light chain (I used a scrap of toilet flapper chain) 2 3mm nylon insert nuts (one for hinge, one for the screw used as the pin) 1 3mm washer for pin (you could do the pin other ways easily enough) Misc Euro Cap Pressure Bleeder Adapter (I have the Motive aluminum one) 40mmx3mm Oring Teflon tape 5/16" tubing, silicone or plastic 5/16" acetal quick connects (makes it easy to disconnect and use the bleeder with other adapters on different vehicles) Oetiker clamps for the tubing Notes: The adapter requires supports to print. One issue I had with my Prusa is that it wanted to add supports to the 45mm threads, which are totally unnecessary. I dialed back the threshold for support overhang threshold to ~17 in the print settings to make those go away. You may or may not need to do this depending on your slicer. The clamp is oriented with the wide flange down for printing purposes, but that is actually the top when you go to attach it to the adapter. To set this up, remove the MC cap, insert the adapter (with the o-ring in place) into the MC, align the clamp so that the upper flange fits into the groove on the adapter, then screw on your power bleeder cap.
