Toyota Sienna Cold Door Fix

I drive a Toyota Sienna that can't unlock its sliding side doors in freezing temperatures. When the thermometer drops to around 35 degrees Fahrenheit, I'm suddenly locked out of my vehicle. The temperature gauge would plummet and then I'd be unable to open my door by pulling on the lever - it just wouldn't budge. I searched online for similar issues and found a supposed solution on YouTube. However, in my case, the cables floated freely as shown in the picture. That wasn't something I wanted, so I designed a bracket that would snap the cables into place. I printed this bracket using an Ultimaker 2 and used Cura's mirror function to create both left and right side doors at once! First, remove the interior of your door and then take out the cables from their bracket - note where they're positioned. Next, snap the top cable in first, followed by the middle one, and finally the bottom one. It's a tight fit, but it works. I attached my print to the bracket with a plastic tapping screw if you want to do the same. No warranty or satisfaction is expressed or implied - use this fix at your own risk! For me, it was a cheap solution since I'm going to have to replace my handles anyway according to the dealer.
